When designing bullet resistant package exchange and window, the threat of ricochet is not as much of a concern as it would be in a bank lobby. For this reason, many gas station and conveience stores opt for a more economical solution using bullet resistant acrylic, pictured to the right.

As you can see, acrylic has a very clear finish. However, unlike polycarbonate, the bullet may not be entirely captured and may produce some ricochet or spall. Acrylic is an attractive, economical choice when "threat side" safety is not as much of a concern.
