Bullet resistant laminated glass is our specialty at Protective Structures. Typically, bullet resistant laminated glass is used where scratch resistance is a major concern or where the bullet resistant transparency will be facing the exterior of the building. Bullet resistant laminated glass is typically cheaper than glass-clad polycarbonate and offers a more economical solution when seeking a scratch resistant or weather resistant transparency.
Bullet resistant laminated glass is combination of various layers of glass and PVB (Poly Vinylbutyral). Typically, a thin layer of glass is used on the interior (non threat side) surface to minimize spall. These various layers are bonded together and come as a single unit. All of our bullet resistant glass products meet UL752 standards and are UL Listed for Levels 1 through 6.
Since bullet resistant laminated glass cannot be cut in the field, all bullet resistant laminated glass must be made to order. Typical lead-times for bullet resistant laminated glass are 6-8 weeks.
